Are your students studying about space, planets or the moon? These creative writing prompts ask the students to look at each picture and use their 5 senses to describe the image. What can they see, touch, smell, taste, hear and feel in each picture? They then use these notes to write a fuller, more detailed description of the picture. This is a great way to prepare for the KS1 SATs tests and the KS2 SATs tests while still having a lot of fun! You could look at it directly as a presentation and discuss the different space locations and space craft being shown in each of the photos. You could print off and laminate the photos to make an interesting, eye-catching set of story prompts. The students could also take five of the laminated photos and create them into a story . The photos could also be used as prompts for creative writing, factual writing or descriptive writing.

Pirates Visual Story Prompts - Creative Writing Using All 5 Senses

Pirate creative writing prompts encourage the children to use all 5 senses to write longer, more detailed descriptions about what they can see. The students think about each of their senses in turn, smelling, touching, tasting, hearing and seeing. They make notes about each of these. They then write a full description of the picture. This worksheet will help them to write richer descriptions. These worksheets are a great way of preparing for the KS1 SATs tests and the KS2 SATs tests while still having a lot of fun! Thinking Hat Detention Reflection Worksheet - Helps A Student To Show More Positive Behaviour

(1)
I have designed a Thinking Hat Detention Reflection Worksheet. What makes it special? It makes the student think about their actions from 6 different angles. It looks as the positives, the negatives, the facts, the feelings, the future and where their actions might have been correct (thinking creatively). Then there is an interesting thought web to complete on the back of it. It is just a nice way to reflect on the actions without getting angry or being punished with more work etc...

Useful Teaching Resources: Interactive Whiteboard Organiser, EYFS Timetable, Primary Timetable+more

This is a really simple idea. It helps a teacher become more organised. It contains all the key features a teacher needs on their interactive whiteboards. These include the date, the daily timetable, the learning objective and notes for students. It is a perfect solution to the messy whiteboard! I bundled together some of my best classroom management tools into a single pack and hope other teachers find them as useful as I have over the years.

5 Steps To Successful Learning Poster + Motivational Quotes + Positive Behaviour System For The Wall

This is a simple, highly visual poster to remind the students about the 5 things they should be doing to learn during the time the teacher is talking. It is a useful reminder, which students can clearly see and understand and teachers can refer to over a lesson. In addition to this simple, but effective poster, I have also included a set of motivational posters about why and how we learn and a complete positive behaviour system you can print out and place around the whole of your room as a constant reminder to success.

Do your students like a structured day? Are they always asking what is next? It sounds like you need a new EYFS Visual timetable. I use Visual Timetables in all my lessons - it lets the students know what to expect throughout the day. It really helps with classroom management and behaviour management.

KS2 Guided Reading Worksheets, Cut Out Thinking Hats And Thinking Hats In Reading Display

Thinking Hats can be found in schools, businesses and a wide range of industries. I have created a set of resources for Key Stage 2 resources to use with almost any reading book. The worksheets are not linked to any book or any particular reading scheme and can be used more than once. These worksheets allow students to examine the same book from 6 different angles and so get a lot more from their reading experiences. These worksheets also provide a real reason to read their books carefully. I have used Thinking Hats a lot in the classroom and have found them to really motivate students to read more. These worksheets can also be used as a useful homework worksheet resource.

KS1 Guided Reading Thinking Hat Worksheets, Cut Out Hats And Thinking Hats Guided Reading Display

The KS1 Guided Reading Thinking Hats worksheets provide students a chance to explore different approaches to thinking and reading a book. When students use Thinking Hats with their guided reading book, they can view the same book from 6 different angles. The worksheets are non-book specific and can be used with a wide range of different books from any levelled or unlevelled reading scheme. These worksheets are particularly useful when a student has finished a book before they move onto a new book. It is a great way of checking their understanding and making sure they have got as much as they can from every book they read. I have been teaching as a primary school teacher for over 14 years. These worksheets can be used both in the classrooms and as homework sheets. The students will enjoy the wide range of activities on offer and be motivated to read more books and share their ideas with others.
